PFORZHEIM, Germany – AMI DODUCO, a unit of Technitrol (NYSE: TNL), recently unveiled its new production facility in Dorog, Hungary. The facility employs skilled craftsmen to produce precision plastic injection molds, which will be used in the production of insert-molded component subassemblies at the company’s facility in Sinsheim, Germany.
“We are pursuing an aggressive strategy to double our sales of insert-molded component subassemblies in the next four years,” said Karl-Heinz Funke, Senior Vice President of AMI DODUCO’s European Business Unit. “Key to this strategy is AMI DODUCO’s unique ability to shorten product development cycles with end-to-end tool making, selective plating, precision stamping and injection molding capabilities. Proprietary injection mold making in Hungary will enable us to quickly respond to customers with innovative engineering solutions.”
Component subassemblies incorporate electrical contacts, precision stamped parts, molded plastic housings and other components and are used in a variety of sensors and control devices in vehicles, appliances and other equipment.
