EXPORT, PA -- AMI DODUCO, a unit of Technitrol (NYSE: TNL), has acquired a tool and die design and manufacturing operation near Tallinn, Estonia, from AMP, a part of Tyco Electronics Corporation.
“The acquisition of this toolmaking operation is an important element of our strategic growth plan,” said James J. Rafferty, Jr., President and Chief Executive Officer, AMI DODUCO. “We are delighted with the highly skilled workforce and modern equipment in this facility. The operation adds significant proprietary toolmaking capabilities needed to offer customers innovative solutions for highly engineered stamped contact parts and components. In addition, it will support the expansion of our electrical contact manufacturing in Eastern Europe.”
The company did not disclose terms of the transaction.
