Pforzheim, Germany – AMI DODUCO, a Technitrol (NYSE:TNL) Company, announced that due to the exceptionally high increase in the cost of tungsten, it is introducing surcharges for all products containing tungsten.
Tungsten is an indispensable component of arc-resistant contacts for high and medium voltages and has a significant effect on material costs.
AMI DODUCO Europe is therefore now applying the metal price increase surcharge, already successfully implemented for copper alloys, to tungsten. The surcharge will be calculated on the basis of the APT market price of the primary material.
“This measure will enable our customers to enter into long-term supply contracts even whilst the price of tungsten is high,” said Christian J. Hagedorn, Vice President Marketing & Sales for Europe. “When material costs fall, the advantages are passed on directly through the dynamic components of the metal price increase surcharge.”
Headquartered in Export, Pennsylvania, AMI DODUCO is a global leader in electrical contact technology and fabrication. The company supplies contacts and assemblies, contact materials and clad metal products, electroplating and surface treatment services, and precious metal refining and recycling to more than 3,000 customers. AMI DODUCO operates from locations in North America, Europe and Asia. The company’s website is www.amidoduco.com.
